More Airbus Seating Patents That Make Me Fear The Future

The asinine seating engineers at Airbus are at it again. They’re back with a bench seat concept, which is ideally suited for two fat people or two adults with two children. If riding a park bench at 30,000 feet is the future of flying, I may need a new hobby. Best part? The artist depicts children as just smaller full grown people in the drawing:

You may remember the patent for a stacked seating arrangement from late last year, the one designed for emerging markets, which are just code words for poor people. Surely these designs do not represent the best of what the airline industry has to offer but it sheds light on ideas they deem worth patenting. Let’s just hope these ideas stay only on paper.
